Helena Faye Winn Hopper passed away on Friday, February 23, 2024 at the Waters of Clifty Falls in Madison. She entered this world on April 13, 1926. She was born in Madison where she resided her whole life. "Faye" is preceded in death by her father, Wright Winn; her step-father, Henry Luckett; her mother, Helen Monroe Luckett; her brother, Dana Winn; her son: Marvin Gayle Elles Jr.; her first husband, Marvin Gayle Elles Sr.; and her second husband, Glenn Hopper.
Her life will be cherished by her daughter, Mary Ann Frazier and her husband, James Frazier Jr. of Lexington, Indiana; a special nephew, Gayle Keith Elles and his wife, Linda of Hanover, Indiana; her grandchildren: Paul, Heather, Christa, Lucas, Carmen, Mary E. and Moses; and seven great grandchildren. She was proud of her hometown and always loved the river.
Faye worked at Charlestown Powder Plant and Ace Hardware. In her younger years, she was a telephone operator and was also a caretaker for her mother and her husband, Glenn until they passed away. Faye was a member of the Moose, loved to sing, write poetry and attend church. She will be sadly missed by all who loved her.
Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Wednesday, February 28, 2024 at Lytle Welty Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Vail Chapel, on Madison's hilltop with interment to follow in Springdale Cemetery in Madison. Friends and family may visit at the Lytle Welty Funeral Home and Cremation Service, Vail Chapel from 4:00 PM to 6:00 PM Tuesday, February 27, 2024, and from 10:00 AM until the time of the service on Wednesday.
