James Heimbach Obituary

James Richard Heimbach, age 77, of Vevay, Indiana, and the son of the late Richard Wendell and Lola Eveleigh (Sipe) Heimbach, was born on May 18, 1946, at the King's Daughters' Hospital in Madison, Indiana. He attended grade school at Eggleston Elementary through the fourth grade before his family moved to Lancaster in 1954. He would then attend and graduate from Dupont High School in 1964. After graduation, he began working at the Ford Truck Plant in North Vernon, Indiana. After just a short time, he had the opportunity to take a position at Cummins where he worked for a few years. He enjoyed working outside so just a few years later, he decided to try working in construction and concrete work. In 1977, he began working for CSX Railroad until he began driving a semi coast to coast in 1987. He eventually bought his own truck and trailer, and drove coast to coast for several years until he had his first heart attack and had to give up truck driving.

He was raised in the Baptist faith. He was married to Linda Howell and they were blessed with one son, Richard. He later married Rita Phillips Boldery and they were blessed with twin sons, Dennis and Darrell. He loved and restored many older cars over the years. His favorite was his 1955 Crown Victoria which he won many trophies with. He loved several dogs over the years. His most recent was a Boston Bull Terrier named Bruno, which he called "Little Boy." He had to give him a friend a few months ago since he was spending more time in the hospital than at his home. He wanted to make sure he was in a good home before he passed. Mr. Heimbach passed away on Thursday, February 29, 2024 at the Norton Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky.

His life will be cherished by his sons: Richard and Carrie Heimbach, of Hanover, Indiana, Dennis and Valerie Heimbach, of Coxs Creek, Kentucky, and Darrell Heimbach, of Shepherdsville, Kentucky; his sister: Carol Bowman of Hanover; his grandchildren: Kaitlin and Daniel Uebel, Danielle and Andy Becker, DJ Heimbach, Steven Heimbach, and Devin Heimbach; his great grandchildren: Bryson, Lochlain, Della, Grady, Leland, Cade, Barrett, and Rowan; his nieces: Tina Faleide and Lisa Peterworth; his nephew: Duane Bowman; several cousins and other relatives. He was preceded in death by his father, Richard Wendell Heimbach who died July 27, 1970; his mother, Lola Eveleigh Sipe Heimbach who died April 27, 1980; his brother, Dennis Eugene Heimbach who died July 10, 1969; his paternal grandparents: Jerome Henry Heimbach who died September 27, 1964, and Blanche Regina Graham Heimbach who died June 26, 1968; his maternal grandparents: Clarence Riley Sipe who died May 1, 1960 and Cora Evelyn Campton Sipe who died January 20, 1973; his brother-in-law: Kenneth Bowman who died July 1, 2016; several aunts, uncles, and cousins.
