Ruth Ann McKinney

Ruth Ann McKinney, age 64, passed from this life on Friday March 29, 2024, leaving behind a legacy of love, compassion and a life well lived. Ruth Ann was born July 18, 1959, to Harlen and Minnie Purvis McKinney in New Albany, Indiana. Moving to Oldham County, Kentucky, where she attended school and graduated from Oldham County High School in 1977. After working at Best Western for several years, she met Dave-she traveled with him in his truck seeing all of the United States. She then settled into a job she loved at Caesars of Southern Indiana for 24 years. She enjoyed the people and her coworkers. She loved going to the beach as often as she could, walking and picking up shells and watching sunrises. She also enjoyed gardening with Dave and her roses. Dave and her were great members of the community and wonderful neighbors.

They leave behind many who will miss and love them including her sister, Linda Manning, and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her partner in life, David Lee Sizemore; her sisters: Ella Dailey and JoElen Yopp; and her brother, Larry James McKinney. Although she didn't have kids of her own, her love of family led her to help raise several family members.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, April 5, 2024 at the Lytle Welty Funeral Home and Cremation Service. Visitation will be from 12:00 Noon until the time of the service on Friday. Burial will be in Moffett Cemetery in Milton, Kentucky.
