Mark A. Davis

February 18, 1962 ~ October 10, 2019 (age 57)

Mark A. Davis, age 57, of Madison, Indiana, and the son of the late James E. and Linda Lou (Robbins) Davis, was born February 18, 1962, in Madison. He grew up in Carrollton, Kentucky where he resided most of his life until 2006. He served his country in Desert Storm, Desert Shield, and Afghanistan. He was united in marriage to the former Freda D. Melton on August 19, 2006, at Milton Baptist Church in Milton, Kentucky.

Over the years, he has held numerous positions at Kentucky Ladder, Parthon, North American Stainless, and Century Tube. Mr. Davis enjoyed watching NASCAR, Kentucky Basketball, horse racing, and spending time with family and friends. He passed away on Thursday, October 10, 2019, at Norton Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky.

His life will be cherished by his wife, Freda, of 13 years of Madison; his children: Christine Drexelius-Davis, of Cincinnati, Ohio, and Amanda Turner, of Madison; his step-daughter, Shelia Simmonds of Milton, Kentucky; his brothers: Doug Davis, of Carrollton and Robert Davis; five grandchildren; three nieces, one nephew; and his brothers-in-law: Dale Fisher, Charles "Cam" Fisher, Rodney Fisher and his wife, Julie, and Bernie Melton.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his son, Jarrod Drexelius; and his sister: Beverly Lynn Davis.

The Honor Guard from the Major Samuel Woodfill Post #9, American Legion will conduct services at 4:00 PM Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at Lytle Welty Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, Vail Chapel, on Madison's hilltop. Friends and family may call at the Lytle Welty Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, Vail Chapel from 2:00 PM until the time of the service on Wednesday.
