Sean Lyle Gilley

Life story Sean Lyle Gilley, age 60, of Columbus, Ohio, and the son of the late Lowell and Doris (Bladen) Gilley, was born on March 16, 1959, in Richmond, Virginia. He attended Lafayette High School, in Lexington, Kentucky and a number of universities in the area of information technology. Sean was a musician who could play almost any instrument as well as a song writer, arranger, and book author. He loved the theater and took trips with his son to see his favorite shows. Sean loved movies and books, which he collected in abundance. Sean also loved cats, his family, and his friends. Sean Gilley passed away on January 8, 2020 at his home in Columbus. His life will be cherished by his son, Iain Gilley, of Columbus; his sister, Maria Gilley, his aunt, Vonda Gilley, and many other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents. Memorial services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Saturday, February 8, 2020 at the Lytle Welty Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, Vail Chapel, 117 Holt Drive, Madison's Hilltop, with interment to follow in Springdale Cemetery. The family requests, in lieu of flowers, memorial contributions be made in Sean's name to Mt Carmel Hospice, 1144 Dublin Rd., Columbus, OH 43215 or the Columbus Association for the Performing Arts, 55 East State Street, Columbus, OH 43215.
