Life story Mrs. Alma S. "Sue" Lewis, age 93, of Madison, passed away on Wednesday, September 1, 2010 at Hickory Creek of Madison. She was born on December 2, 1916 in Johnstown, Pennsylvania, the daughter of George P. and Maude Hamer Playez. Mrs. Lewis was a homemaker and a member of Saint Paul's United Church of Christ in Johnstown. Survivors include two daughters: Grace "Betsie" Frazier and her husband, Carl of Madison, and Norma Jane Hayes of Lafayette, Louisiana; three sisters: Ella MacLaren of Pensacola, Florida, Lucy Link of Elbert, Alabama, and Norma Balko of Johnstown; eight grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William Edward Lewis; four sisters: Kathryn Tenney, Leah Godfrey, Janet Riley and Georgette Wingard; and two brothers: Irvin and James Playez. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:00 PM Saturday, September 4, 2010 at the Saint Paul's United Church of Christ in Johnstown, with interment to follow in Grandview Cemetery there.
