Life story Mr. Asbel Ritchie, age 88, of Williamson, Georgia and formerly of Canaan, passed away Sunday, June 26, 2005 at Spalding Regional Medical Center in Griffin, Georgia. Mr. Ritchie was born October 7, 1916 in Dwarf, Kentucky to the late Abijah and Flora Mae Combs Ritchie. He was preceded in death by his wife, Marie Owens Ritchie on March 31, 2002. Survivors include his children and their spouses, Vernon and Brenda Ritchie of Griffin, Kenneth Ritchie of North Carolina, Phyllis Goolsby of Griffin, Norma and Fred Tuttle of Canaan, Indiana, Wayne and Margo Ritchie of Washington State, Eva and Wayne Steadman of Carrollton, Georgia, Ronnie Ritchie of Griffin; one sister, Mollie Haskins of Florida; 14 grandchildren; several great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services for Mr. Ritchie will be conducted Wednesday, June 29, 2005 at 2:00 P.M. EDT in the Chapel of Conner-Westbury Funeral Home, Griffin. Dr. Steve Stewart will officiate. Following the services, Mr. Ritchie will be flown to the Lytle Funeral Chapel in Madison, Indiana, where graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 P.M (EST)Friday at the Canaan Cemetery, Canaan, Indiana.
