Life story Barbara Jean Shockley, age 73, of Versailles, went to be with the Lord on Monday, August 25. She was born on June 10, 1941 in Madison, Indiana, the daughter of Everett and Myra (Kirk) Shockley. Barbara attended Eggleston Elementary School and graduated from Madison City Schools on May 25, 1961. She attended First Christian Church in Madison as a youth and was a resident of Silver Memories Nursing Home in Versailles. Barbara enjoyed reminiscing about growing up in Madison; she loved cats; and she found great joy in knowing Jesus. Survivors include her sister, Ethel Shockley; her brother, David Shockley and his wife, Susan; two nieces: Sara Crawford and Jennifer Carroll; and one nephew, Daniel Shockley, all of Indianapolis, Indiana. She was preceded in death by her parents. There will be a viewing from 5:00- 8:00PM on Thursday, August 28 and from 10:00 AM until the time of service on Friday at Lytle Funeral Chapel in Madison, Indiana. The funeral will be held at 11 o'clock in the morning, Friday, August 29 at Lytle Funeral Chapel in Madison, Indiana. Interment at Marble Corner Cemetery in Versailles, Indiana will take place after the funeral.
