Life story Barbara Kent Yount, age 75, of Madison, passed away on Wednesday, December 12, 2012 at her residence. Born May 6, 1937 in New Washington, Indiana, she was the daughter of Ernest and Ruth (Bates) Kent. Mrs. Yount graduated from New Washington High School and was united in marriage to Paul W. Yount on November 17, 1954. She worked for the former Reliance Electric Company and retired after twenty plus years of service at the Jefferson County Courthouse. She was a member of Calvary Baptist Church and loved her family, working in her home, gardening and watching birds. Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Rodney and Connie Yount of Hanover; three daughters: Debi Yount of Madison, Darlene Scholl and her husband Donnie of Milton, Kentucky, and Peggy Walters and her husband Jeff of Madison; two brothers and sisters-in-law: Harry and Ethel Kent of Shelbyville, Indiana and James Ray and Delores Kent of Sellersburg, Indiana; one sister, Bette Farmer of Shelbyville; two brothers-in-law: Raymond Yount and his wife, Shirley of Hanover, and Archie Yount and his wife, Toni of Wichita Falls, Texas; and one sister-in-law, Myrna Massie and her husband Edward; eight grandchildren: Russell Crawford and his wife Tayra, Jeremy Honaker, Josh Honaker, Ashley Scholl-McGee and her husband, Alex, Rodney Paul Yount II and his wife, Emily, Trey Scholl and his wife, Amber, Tristen Walters and Brian Walters; six great-grandchildren: Russ Crawford, Jalahn Honaker, Kenny "KW" Yount, Savannah Crawford, Jade Yount and a baby due in March, 2013; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Paul, who died on July 24, 2004; five sisters: Grace Ratts, Ethel Plaskett, Bertha Giltner, Lula Johnson, and Cammie Seeley; and two brothers: Earl and Roy Kent. Dr. Scott Murphy will conduct funeral services at 1:00 PM Sunday, December 16, 2012 at the Lytle Funeral Chapel, with interment to follow in Marble Corner Cemetery, Madison. Friends and family may call at the Lytle Funeral Chapel from 5 to 8 PM Saturday, December 15, and from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM Sunday. The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Cornerstone Community Church or the donor's favorite charity. Contribution envelopes are available at the funeral home.
