Life story Bertha Irene "Bert" Rusk, age 79, of Madison, passed away Saturday, February 6, 2016 at her residence. She was born July 13, 1936 in Marion, Indiana, the daughter of Merle Dwight and Erma Faith Griffith King. Mrs. Rusk was a 1954 graduate of Marion High School. She worked in the Jefferson County Courthouse, first as a clerk in the Clerk of the Circuit Court's office, and then as a probation clerk and bailiff for two Circuit Court judges, Paul Schnaitter and Joseph Hensley. After retiring, she helped her husband, Bob, who was the golf pro at Sunrise Golf Course. She was a member of Trinity United Methodist Church, and enjoyed knitting, cooking, gambling, reading and her grandchildren. She is survived by her husband, Bob, to whom she was married on March 16, 1956, and who would have celebrated sixty years of marriage next month; one daughter and son-in-law, Becky and Dean Wentworth of Madison; four grandchildren: Blair Shadday, Kira Shadday Martin and her husband, Kyle, Justin Wentworth and Brandon Wentworth and his wife, Ashtin; and seven great grandchildren: Jenna, Julie and Luke Martin, and Braxton, Harper, Catalee and Gatlin Wentworth. She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers. Graveside services will be conducted by Pastor Robby King at 11:00 AM Thursday, February 11, 2016 at the Springdale Cemetery. Friends and family may call at the Main Street Chapel of Lytle Funeral Homes from 5 to 7 PM Wednesday. The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Pope John Catholic School library.
