Obituary

Life story Mrs. Beryl L. Maddox, age 76, of Madison, passed away on Sunday, December 12, 2010 at the Hanover Health and Rehab Center in Hanover, Indiana. Born May 31, 1934 in Trimble County, Kentucky, she was the daughter of Wilford and Lizzie Chandler Bayne. Mrs. Maddox was a graduate of Milton High School in Milton Kentucky. She was a homemaker, mother and a companion to her husband, Franklin G. Maddox, to whom she was married on November 24, 1954 at the Milton United Methodist Church. She had resided not only in Milton and Madison, but also in Newburgh, Indiana and Saint Joseph, Michigan during her lifetime. She was a member of the North Madison Christian Church, the American Contract Bridge League for twenty-five years, and the Disabled American Veterans Auxiliary. She loved to cook and try new recipes, travel and play in Bridge tournaments. She had traveled extensively to Bridge tournaments in numerous states. She especially loved spending time with her family, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Surviving are her husband of Madison; two sons: Michael Maddox and his companion, Betty Bowyer of Madison, and Jason Maddox and his wife, Lisa, of Madison; two sisters: Mary P. Stapp and her husband, Clyde of Houston, Texas and Bonita Shelton and her husband, Prentis of Madison; five grandchildren: Parker, Paige, and Justin Maddox, Kayla Roberts and Kena Monroe; four great grandchildren; two nieces and five nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; one daughter, Rhonda Maddox; and two brothers: Wilford Bayne, Jr. and David Bayne. Bob Hicks will conduct memorial services at 1:00 PM Friday, December 17, 2010 at the Lytle Funeral Chapel. Interment will be private for the family in Moffett Cemetery, Milton. Friends and family may call at the Lytle Funeral Chapel from 11:00 AM until 1:00 PM Friday. The family requests memorial contributions be made to the North Madison Christian Church "Whatever It TakesInvesting for Eternity" building fund.
