Life story Mrs. Bessie A. Parsons Cooper, age 80, of Madison, passed away on Wednesday, May 16, 2007 at the Jewish Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. She was born on December 8, 1926 in Madison, the daughter of John and Alice Parsons. Mrs. Cooper was a homemaker and had lived all of her life in Madison and Jefferson County. She loved to collect roosters and spending time with her children and grandchildren. According to her family, she was a "strong and lively mother, and was very good at expressing her opinion." Survivors include three sons: Larry "Mike" Cooper, and his wife, Kathy, Robert "Bobby" Cooper and Roy Eugene Cooper, all of Madison; six daughters: Rosemarie Cooper, Sharon Barnes and her husband, Eugene, all of Carrollton, Kentucky, Carolyn Eden and her husband, Tony and Teresa Crittenden and her husband, Eugene, all of Hanover, and Jolena Edwards and her husband, Sidney, and Melissa Cooper, all of Madison; thirty-one grandchildren; forty-one great-grandchildren; and three great-great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, and her husband, Robert Mason Cooper on May 5, 1971, and to whom she was married in 1942. Dr. Mike Willhite will conduct funeral services at 1:00PM Sunday, May 20, 2007 at the Lytle Funeral Chapel, with interment to follow in the Dupont Cemetery. Friends and family may call at the Lytle Funeral Chapel from 5 to 8 PM Saturday, and from 12:00 Noon until time of services on Sunday.
