Life story Bettie Marie Handlon, age 84, of Madison, Indiana, passed away on Monday, December 24, 2018 at The Waters of Clifty Falls in Madison, Indiana. Born September 5, 1934 in Seymour, Indiana, she was the daughter of Everett Allen and Thelma Marie (McKinney) Bryan. Out of high school, she worked at Samples Ice Cream and was a telephone operator for 22 years for the Indiana Telephone Company. On December 24, 1954, she was united in marriage to John Henry Handlon in Jeffersonville, Indiana. She was a member of the Ryker's Ridge Baptist Church. Mrs. Handlon loved drawing and riding horses, playing Euchre with family and spent many hours fishing with her husband. She also cared for her parents in their later years. She will be sadly missed by her brother, Michael Bryan and his wife, Jean of Madison; three nieces and nephews: Jeanna Dorsey and her husband, Darrell, Mark Bryan and Scott Bryan and his wife, Jill; her sister-in-law, Barb Jones and her husband, Gary of Madison; her brother-in-laws: Steve Handlon of Mississipi and Michael Handlon of Las Vegas; her aunt: Marilyn McKinney of Columbus; and several great and great-great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband on November 15, 1987; her sister-in-law, Sharon Massie and a great-great nephew, Cayden. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 PM Monday, December 31, 2018 at Lytle Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, Wood Oakley Chapel, 37 High Street, Milton, Kentucky with interment to follow in Moffett Cemetery.
