Life story Mrs. Betty Jean Bentz, age 69, of Hanover, formerly of Madison, passed away on Friday, August 1, 2008 at the Jewish Hospital in Lousiville, Kentucky. She was born on August 8, 1938 in Switzerland County, Indiana, the daughter of Luther and Margaret (Woods) Pettit. She attended the Switzerland County High School and had worked for most of her life for nursing homes in the Madison and Hanover area. Her last place of service was as a cook at the Jewell House in Madison. Survivors include one daughter, Tammy Haase of Madison; one son and daughter-in-law, Randy and Danita Haase of Frisco, Texas; two grandchildren: Robert Haase and Devin Balboa, both of Madiosn; ten great grandchildren; and her former husband, Henry Bentz of Madison. She was preceded in death by her parents; her step-father, Delbert Sprong; one daughter: Janet Haase; two sons: Ronnie Haase and Danny Haase; one brother, Willilam Pettit; two sisters: Bonnie Everts and Wilma Sprong; and one granddaughter, Amanda Haase. Memorial services for Mrs. Bentz will be held at a later date. August 7, 2008 Memorial services have now been set for 2:00 PM Saturday, August 9, 2008 at the New Marion Bptist Church in Holton.
