Life story Mrs. Betty Jean Martin Ward, age 81, of Madison, passed away on Tuesday, August 5, 2014 at the Waters of Clifty Falls in Madison. She was born on April 8, 1933 in Carroll County, Kentucky, the daughter of Ralph and Justine (Perry) Meadows. Mrs. Ward moved to Madison from Carroll County in 1989, where she was a member of the Valley Christian Church. After moving, she attended West Street Ministries. She was a homemaker and enjoyed reading, shopping and senior citizen's dances. Survivors include one daughter: Shirley Beard and her husband, Paul of Hanover, Indiana; two sons: Gary Martin and his wife, Darlyne, of Milton, Kentucky, and Todd Martin of Jeffersonville, Indiana; five grandchildren: Bill and his wife, Jennifer, Tad, Sedayah, Brittany, and Jessica; and two great grandchildren: Kara and Justin. She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Clifford Martin on August 8, 1974; her second husband, Woodrow Ward in 1989; two brothers: Freddie Meadows and James Meadows; and one sister, Mary Nell Youngblood. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Friday, August 8, 2014 at the Lytle Funeral Chapel, with interment to follow in the Carrollton I.O.O.F. Cemetery, Carrollton, Kentucky.
