Life story UPDATE: April 21, 2010 Memorial services for Billie A. Means, age 80, of Madison, who passed away on Wednesday, April 2010 at her residence, will be held at 2:00 PM Sunday, April 25, 2010 at the home of her son, Grover Anderson, 6556 West Interstate Block Road, Madison. Means, age 80, of Madison, passed away on Wednesday, April 14, 2010 at her residence. She was born on December 14, 1929 in Martinsville, Indiana, the daughter of Howard and Edna Myers Tilford. Mrs. Means moved to Madison in 1956 from Martinsville and was a graduate of Hanover College. She taught school in Scottsburg for two years, at Southwestern Schools in Hanover for five years, and retired from teaching English after twenty-four years in the Madison Consolidated Schools. She loved to play Bingo, card games, enter sweepstakes, and was formerly an avid bowler. Survivors include two sons: Grover Anderson and his wife, Loretta of Madison, and Mike Anderson of California; three daughters: Becky Goot of Lowell, Indiana, Bonnie Yarling of Madison and Lea Spall and her husband, Al?of Queens Creek, Arizona; one step-son, Rick Means of Indianapolis, Indiana; one brother, Dana Myers of Mexico; twelve grandchildren; twenty great grandchildren; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents; her grandparents, Hershel and Agnes Myers who raised her; and her husband, Roy A. Means on August 29, 2008, to whom she was married April 5, 1969. Memorial services will be announced at a future date. Lytle Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
