Life story Bonnie Ruth Stephens, age 63, of Madison, passed away on Tuesday, May 17, 2016 at her residence. Born May 31, 1952 in Carrollton, Kentucky, she was the daughter of Lee Roy and Mary (Robbins) Johnson. Mrs. Stephens moved from Carrollton to Madison in 1958 and attended Madison Consolidated Schools. During her life, she worked for the Madison-Jefferson County Public Library, the Social Security office, Joyce Shoe Company, and retired in 1998 as a qualified medical assistant at the Madison State Hospital. She was baptized as a child at First Baptist Church, and then again in the Apostolic faith. She enjoyed reading, crocheting, knitting and her grandchildren, who were her life. Survivors include her husband, Warren R. Stephens, to whom she was married on July 25, 1970 in Celina, Tennessee; two daughters: Michelle Renae Stephens and her significant other, Jesse Sizemore, and Kimberly Dawn Stephens and her significant other, Michael Giampaolo, all of Madison; two sisters: Barbara Fenley and her husband, Wayne of Lebanon Junction, Kentucky, and Debbie Cooper of Jeffersonville, Indiana; two brothers: James Johnson and his wife, Barbara of Saluda, Indiana, and Vernon Carroll Johnson of Hanover; two grandsons: Ryan Linville and Nicholas Stephens, both of Madison; and several nieces and nephews. Mrs. Stephens was preceded in death by her parents; one infant son in 1971; one grandson, Carriag Balian; and three sisters: Mary Belle Johnson, Louise Johnson and Beulah Johnson Tapp. At her request, their will be no services.
