Carolyn Louise Harper, age 75, of Lexington, Indiana, and the daughter of the late Carroll Ray James and Maureen Egerton Luhn, was born on April 23, 1947, in Carrollton, Kentucky. She was a graduate of Trimble County High School and was a homemaker throughout her life. On June 3, 1970, she was united in marriage to Lance Harper. In her spare time, she enjoyed her flowers, gardening, and was an avid University of Kentucky Basketball fan. Mrs. Harper passed away April 29, 2022 at her residence in Lexington. Her life will be cherished by her children: Darin Harper Shelley and his wife, Gyna of North Vernon, Indiana and Kristi Harper, of Lexington; her brother: Rick Oak and his wife, Donna of Louisville, Kentucky; her grandchildren: Skylar, Lance, Kylee, Haley, Jessica, Tamirra, and Jasmine; and eight great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Lance; her son: Danton Harper; her step-father, Richard Luhn; her brothers: Garry "Chuck" Oak and Mark Luhn; and her maternal grandparents who helped raise her: JW (Billy) and Frances Egerton. Graveside services will be held Monday May 9, 2022 at 2:00 PM at the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions be made to the Carolyn Harper Memorial Fund to help with funeral expenses.
