Obituary

Life story Mr. Charles E. "Eddie" Hatchel, age 77, of Madison, passed away on Sunday, June 3, 2012 at the Davis Elderly Care in Hanover, Indiana. He was born on August 14, 1934, the son of Roy and Udora (Amos) Hatchel. Mr. Hatchel was a 1953 graduate of Madison High School, and a life-long resident of Madison. He served in the Indiana National Guard until 1957, and retired from the former Rex Chainbelt, aka Rexnord and Evironex in 1991 after many years of service. He enjoyed breeding horses and was a member of the American Quarterhorse Association and the former Trimble County, Kentucky, Saddle Club. Survivors include his wife, the former Betty Anne Horine, to whom he was married on September 24, 1955; one son, Charles E. "Gabby" Hatchel of Hanover; one daughter and son-in-law, Cindy and Joe Mack of Madison; one sister and brother-in-law Wilma and Ronald Wheeler of Hendersonville, Tennessee; seven grandchildren and seventeen great grandchildren. His parents and a foster son, Richard Cable, preceded him in death. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Wednesday, June 6, 2011 at the Lytle Funeral Chapel, with interment to follow in Grandview Memorial Gardens. The Honor Guard from Jefferson Post #9, American Legion, will conduct military graveside services. Friends may call from 5 to 8 PM Tuesday, June 5, 2012 at the Lytle Funeral Chapel.
