Obituary

Life story Mr. Charles E. Lee, age 88, of Lexington, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, May 23, 2013 at his residence in Lexington. He was born February 17, 1925 in Bryantsburg, Indiana, the son of Earl Raymond and Dorothy M (Holcraft) Lee. Mr. Lee was a U.S. Army/Air Corp veteran of World War II and was honorably discharged in 1946. He was a Bronze Star recipient, and a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, Post 1969, Madison. Mr. Lee retired in 2000 as a truck driver, and also worked as a patrolman for the Jefferson County Sheriff's Department for eight years. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and mushroom hunting. He was also an avid fan of NASCAR and the Cincinnati Reds. Survivors include two daughters: Tami Blair of Lexington and Donna May of Alabama; one son: Charles Alan "Chuck" Lee of Illinois; one brother: Robert E. Lee of Madison; one sister: Doris Jean Hopper of Lexington, Indiana; four step-children; two grandchildren: Patricia Diane Lee Gosman and Trevor Blair; and one great grandchild: Alexa Serenity Lee Davis. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers: Jackie Lee and Raymond Lee. Chaplain Rob Schettler will conduct funeral services at 11:00 AM Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at the Lytle Funeral Chapel, with interment to follow in Grandview Memorial Gardens. Friends and family may call at the Lytle Funeral Chapel from 5 to 8 PM Tuesday, May 28 and from 10 to 11 AM Wednesday. Military honors will be given at the funeral home and the graveside by the United States Army and the Honor Guard of Jefferson Post #9, American Legion. The family requests memorial contributions be made to the VA-Amedisys Hospice Care. Contribution envelopes are available at the funeral home.
