Life story Charlotte Rhea Lunsford, age 68, of Madison, Indiana, passed away on Friday, February 27, 2009 at the Columbus Regional Hospital in Columbus, Indiana. She was born on March 6, 1940 in Madison, the daughter of Alexander Closten and Margaret Ellen Mauck Wagner. She lived almost her entire life in Madison as a homemaker before moving to North Vernon to be closer to her work at the Muscatatuck State Development Center. She retired from Muscatatuck, but while employed there she served as a Qualified Medical Aide and a union representative. She was a member of the Baptist church, a former member of president of the American Legion Women's Auxillary of Jefferson Post #, Madison, loved doing Crossword puzzles, watching Jeopardy on television and was a big Los Angeles Dodgers fan. Survivors include three daughters: Connee R. Sauley, and her husband Kevin, of Madison, Ellen "Chris" Gaebes of North Vernon, and Ruth "Shelly" Miles and her husband, Rick, of Lexington, Indiana; one son: Robert L. Lunsford and his wife Pam, of Brookville, Maryland; eight grandchildren: Jessica Sauley, Maria and Luke Lunsford, Megan Liter, Michael and Matthew Jones, and Christopher and Olivia Miles. Also surviving are three nieces: Cynthia Smith, M.M. Wagner-Burkhardt and Willa Beth Goebel; and two dogs: Maggie and Lazarus. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, William Wagner. Private family services will be held. She chose cremation.
