Life story Chris Mattern, age 38, of Milton, Kentucky, passed away on Saturday, May 4, 2019 in Madison, Indiana. Born April 5, 1981 in Chicago, Illinois, he was the son of William Henry and Rosemary Claire (Kramp) Mattern. He graduated from Highland Park, Illinois High School in 1999 and from the Kelly School of Business at Indiana University. Chris was the second shift plant manager at Madison Precision Products. He was raised catholic and was a certified trainer in The Zero Suicide Initiative, which is a part of the Healthy Communities Initiative at the KDH Foundation. He was also a member of the Rotary Club, where he worked with the "I Like Me" book program. He loved playing guitar, was a fan of the Ramones, collected vinyl records of his favorite bands and enjoyed writing. He was also an avid Chicago Bears and Chicago Cubs fan. He will be sadly missed by his sister, Kelly Mattern of Milton; his nephew, Billy Mattern and his girlfriend, Brandie of Louisville, Kentucky; his niece, Payton Mattern of Milton; his great niece, Kaylee Rose Mattern; his dog, Dixie and cat, Joey Ramone. He was preceded in death by his parents. Funeral services will be held at 7:00 PM Friday, May 10, 2019 at Lytle Welty Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, Vail Chapel, 117 Holt Drive, on Madison's Hilltop. Friends and family may call at the funeral home from 4 PM to 7 PM, Friday, May 10, 2019.
