Life story Mrs. Darlene M. Clapham, age 76, of Madison, passed away at 1:00 AM Sunday, June 3, 2007 at King's Daughter's Hospital. Born June 25, 1930 in Trimble County, Kentucky she was the daughter of Luther L. and Vadah L. (Leach) Holland. She married Edward R. Clapham on. Mrs. Clapham was co-owner, with her husband Ed, of the Fashion Cleaners and managed the License Branch and Spiegels. She was a member of the First Baptist Church in Madison for years, the Order of Eastern Star Lodge #530 were she was Worthy Matron and the Business and Professional Women's Organization. She was an avid reader and loved dogs. Mrs. Clapham is survived by her husband, Edward R. Clapham, whom she married on September 3, 1971; a daughter, Beverly Houze Eller of Cincinnati, OH; a son Robert L. Houze and his wife, Dawn of Lexington, IN; a step-daughter, Diane Terry of Madison; and three step-sons; Dean and Don Clapham of Madison, and Steve Clapham of Des Moines, IA; two granddaughters, Courtney Eller Williams of Beijing, China and Erin Eller Sammons of Richmond, VA; and two grandsons, Andrew Houze and Ramsay Houze of Madison and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, first husband, Robert Eugene Houze and a sister, Norma Jean Holland. The Reverend Lewis Wright will conduct funeral services at 11:00 AM Thursday, at the First Baptist Church, 416 Vine Street, Madison with interment to follow at Fairmount Cemetery. Friends and family may gather for visitation from 4 PM to 8 PM Wednesday, at Lytle Funeral Chapel and 10 AM to 11 AM Thursday at the church.
