Life story Darrell McAlister, age 57, of Madison, passed away on Sunday, January 3, 2016 at Norton Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. Born January 31, 1958 in Carrollton, Kentucky, he was the son of John G. and Mae (McManis) McAlister. Mr. McAlister worked for Bulk Truck and Transport for more than twenty years, and was a final assembler. He was a member of the Sons of the Legion, and enjoyed sitting on the Ohio River, gambling, and music, especially Blues. Survivors include his wife, the former Nancy Tucker, to whom he was married on June 13, 1993 on the Ohio River in Madison; one son, Travis McAlister of Versailles, Kentucky; three daughters: Sarah Asbury of Versailles, Kentucky, and Glena Montgomery and Amy Owen and her husband, George, all of Madison; two sisters: Debi Myers of Indianapolis, and Kay McAlister and her companion Jess of Madison; one brother: Damon McAlister and his fiance, Dana Kernen of Madison; eleven grandchildren: Micah, Olivia, Luciana, and Isabella McAlister, Cole and Conner Asbury, Nick Tucker, Kayla and Britney Montgomery, and Dalton and Taylor Owen; several cousins, nieces and nephews; other family members: Tom and Bonnie Tucker, Kenny and Sally Williams, Doug and Linda Jackson, Chris and Annette Harper; and his family at Auxier Gas and Bulk Truck and Transport. He was preceded in death by his parents and one brother, Dennis McAlister. Mr. Bimp McAlister will conduct funeral services at 7:00 PM Wednesday, January 6, 2016 at Lytle Funeral Homes, Vail Chapel on Michigan Road.
