Life story Mr. David Holland, Sr., age 73, passed away Saturday, July 28, 2012 at Hanover Nursing Center in Hanover, Indiana. Born May 31, 1939 in Indiana, he was the son of High and Joanna (Rather) Holland. Mr. Holland attended the University of Hawaii, and worked for the Belk Department Stores in retail management and the Regis Inventory Company of Louisville, Kentucky. He also held a real estate license. His memberships included the New Antioch Christian Church in Lancaster, Kentucky and the Moose Lodge of Louisville. Survivors include two sons: the Reverend David Holland, Jr. and his wife, Patricia of Irvine, Kentucky, and John Holland of Louisville; one sister, Marianne Hickerson of Louisville; two step-grandchildren; one step great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Hugh Holland; his mother, Joanna Gardner; and one brother, James Milton Holland in 1953. The Reverend Robert Leach and Reverend David Holland, Jr. will conduct funeral services at 1:00 PM Tuesday, July 31, 2012 at the Lytle Funeral Chapel, with interment to follow in Springdale Cemetery, Madison. Friends and family may call at the Lytle Funeral Chapel from 10:00 AM until 1:00 PM Tuesday, July 31. The family requests memorial contributions be made to the American Diabetes Association.
