Obituary

Life story Mr. Dennis W. "Bo" Rogers, age 79, of Madison, passed away on Thursday, September 12, 2013 at the King's Daughters' Hospital in Madison. He was born on August 3, 1934 in Trimble County, Kentucky, the son of Ashby and Hazel H. (Wright) Rogers. Mr. Rogers graduated from the former Central High School on Ryker's Ridge. He then served in the US Army from February 1957 to February 1959. Following his service to his country, he returned home to work on the assembly line for the old Swing Factory, as a final inspector for the former Conn Organ Company, US Shoe Corporation, Meyers Manufacturing, and began a sales career in automobiles with Croxton Lincoln-Mercury and Arbuckles in Scottsburg. He retired as the sales manager for the former Cas Casteel Chevrolet dealership in Madison. Survivors include three daughters and sons-in-law: Judith and Mark Bray of Bedford Kentucky, Regina and Jim Cope of Madison, and Denise and Donnie Dean of Lexington, Indiana; three sisters: Virginia Drennen of Madison, Helen Lanning of Indianapolis, Indiana and Mary Catherine Stacy of Mooresville, Indiana; eight grandchildren; two step-grandchildren; five great grandchildren; and three step-great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his father, Ashby Rogers; his mother, Hazel H. Rogers Gray; two sisters: Ann Bright and Scottie Rogers; one half-sister, Peggy Van Kampen; and two brothers: William B. Rogers and Kenneth E. Rogers. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Monday, September 16, 2013 at the Lytle Funeral Chapel, with interment to follow in the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery. The Honor Guard of Jefferson Post #9, American Legion, will conduct military honors at the cemetery. Friends and family may call at the Lytle Funeral Chapel from 9 to 11 AM Monday.
