Mr. Dennis G. Taylor, age 71, of Madison, Indiana, and the son of the late Carroll Lee Taylor and Rachel (Lewis) Banks, was born June 11, 1949, in Switzerland County, Indiana. He enlisted in the United States Navy in December 16, 1968 and was discharged December 8, 1972 at the rank of a Fireman. He retired in 2018 as a Fork Lift Operator at Cummins and previously worked at Reliance Electric in Madison. Dennis loved muscle cars and sitting on his front porch when it rained. More than anything else, he loved spending time with his daughter-in-law, son and five grandchildren. His greatest accomplishment was being the best Father and grandfather anyone can be. Mr. Taylor passed away June 3, 2021 at his home.

His life will be cherished by his son and daughter-in-law: Brandon and Sheri Taylor of Madison; his sisters: Rhonda Noel and her husband, John of Lexington, Patty Ferrell and her husband, Mike of Bedford, Indiana; his brother: Billy Banks and his wife, Quinella of Crowley, Texas; his grandchildren: Casey Applegate, Conner Applegate, Braeton Taylor, Hannah Taylor and Jia Taylor. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-father, Howard Banks; his brother, Gerald Banks and his aunt, Helen Hunt.

The Honor Guards of the United States Navy and the American Legion, Post #9 will conduct Military Graveside Services at 2:00 PM Monday June 7, 2021 at Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery, on Madison's hilltop with interment to follow. Friends and family may call at the Lytle Welty Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, Vail Chapel from 11:30 AM to 1:30 PM Monday, June 7, 2021.

The family requests memorial contributions be made to Jefferson County Veteran's Council. Contributions may be made at the Lytle Welty Funeral Home or below.
