Life story Derrick Robert "D.T." Turner, age 15, of Madison, passed away on Friday, February 13, 2009 at the Kosair Children's Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky. He was born December 23, 1993 in Madison, Indiana, the son of Charles R. and Chandra Scholl Turner. Derrick was a freshman at Madison Consolidated High School, where he played basketball, baseball and golf. He also enjoyed playing with his X-Box. Survivors include his mother, Chandra Wynn of Madison; father, Charles R. Turner of Madison; step-father, Donald Wynn of Madison; one sister, Stephanie Turner of New Albany, Indiana; paternal grandparents: Tom and Jane Turner of Madison; maternal grandfather, Johnny Scholl of Madison; maternal grandmother, Carol Meadows of Madison; several aunts, uncles and cousins; and a special teacher, Kirsten Carlson. The Reverend Frank McGee will conduct funeral services at 11:00 AM Wednesday, February 18, 2009 at the North Madison Baptist Church, with interment to follow in Grandview Memorial Gardens. Friends and family may call at the Lytle Funeral Chapel from 4 to 8 PM Tuesday and after 10 AM until time of services on Wednesday at the church. The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Derrick Robert Turner Memorial Fund, in care of Lytle Funeral Chapel. Memorial envelopes are available at the funeral home.
