Life story Mr. Donald E. Melton, 75, of Madison, Indiana passed away Thursday, July 8, 2010 at King's Daughters' Hospital in Madison, Indiana. He was born Tuesday, November 20, 1934 in Madison, the son of Eugene and Thelma Bott Melton. He first retired from Kroger's in Madison. He then retired as a barge attendant at IKE and also worked for the Madison Courier delivery department. He was a member of the Saint John's United Church of Christ, Moose Lodge #765, Madison Jaycees, and Veteran's of Foreign Wars Post #1969. His hobbies included woodworking and listening to country music. Survivors include his three daughters: Terri Abbott of Madison, Pam Marsh of New Albany, Indiana Cathy Bray of Madison; eight grandchildren and twelve great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Shelba (Wingham) Melton on July 21, 2006 and to whom he married on Saturday, August 29, 1953 in Madison. Pastor Richard Jankowsky will conduct funeral services at 11:00 AM on Monday, July 12, 2010 at Lytle Funeral Chapel, Madison, with burial to follow at the Moffett Cemetery in Milton, Kentucky. Friends and family may call from 4:00 PM until 7:00 PM on Sunday, July 11, 2010 and from 10:00 AM until time of service on Monday, July 12, 2010 at the Lytle Funeral Chapel.
