Life story Mrs. Doris "Dori" George, age 81, of Madison, Indiana passed away on Monday, November 8, 2004 at the King's Daughters' Hospital. She was born on June 3, 1923 in Fergus Falls, Minnesota, and was the daughter of King and Ethel O'Reilly Bestic, who preceded her in death. Additionally, her first husband, Willard Sorenson; her second husband, Corbett George; two sisters, Dorothy Griffin and Mickey Carroll; and one son-in-law, Dick Denton, preceded Mrs. George in death. Mrs. George retired as the secretary/ treasurer for the Hotel and Restaurant Union, Local 681 in Long Beach, California, and became a board member of the union following her retirement. She was a member of the Eagles Lodge and Elks Lodge in California, and the VFW Auxiliary, Post 1969 in Madison. Surviving are two daughters: Saundra Sharon Hastings and her husband, Don of Spring Valley, California and Suzanne Denton-Strahle and her husband, Ted of Madison; three grandchildren, including Keith Denton of Madison; and ten great-grandchildren, including Caleb Richard Denton and Carson Allen Denton, both of Madison. A rosary service will be held at 5:30 P.M. today, November 11, 2004 with a memorial service to follow at 6:00 P.M. Both services will be held at Lytle Funeral Chapel. Following her memorial service, her cremated remains will be taken to the West Coast and scattered at sea.
