Life story Doris J. Konkle, 93, of Madison, Indiana, passed away Monday, May 14, 2012 at King's Daughters' Hospital in Madison. She was born Friday, June 14, 1918 in Madison, Indiana, the daughter of John Henry and Daisy (Tewell) Hugeback. Mrs. Konkle graduated from Madison High School in 1937. In her early life, she worked at Scott's Five and Ten and managed Hugeback Grocery while her brother was in the war. She enjoyed bingo, reading and working in the yard. Survivors include her daughter, Jan Konkle of Madison; two surviving sons: John Konkle of Madison, and Bruce Konkle of Coumbia, SC; and 3 grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Robert Konkle, whom she married on Sunday, October 7, 1945; one brother, Charles Hugeback, and a daughter, Gwendolyn Konkle. Graveside services will be conducted at 1:00 PM on Thursday, May 17, 2012 at the Grandview Memorial Gardens Chapel with burial to follow. The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the National Multiple Sclerosis Society in memory of her daughter, Gwendolyn J.
