Life story Dorothy Jewel Dottie Heiderman, age 86, of Madison, passed away on Thursday, January 8, 2015 in New Washington, Indiana. She was born on November 19, 1928 in Ripley County, Indiana, the daughter of Fred and Clementine (Vogel) Lawrence. Mrs. Heiderman was a 1946 graduate of Cross Plains, Indiana, High School, and retired in 1990 after thirty years of service from the former Reliance Electric Company Quality Control department. She was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, Madison, and a Red Cross volunteer. She enjoyed collecting dolls, coins and stamps, going to yard sales, and spending time with her children and grandchildren. Survivors include one son, Donald L. Heiderman, Jr. and his wife, Paula, of Madison; one daughter, Judith Ellison of Dallas, Georgia; one brother, Donald Lawrence of Friendship, Indiana; seven grandchildren: Rob Heiderman and his wife, Lynette of Madison, Meredith Heiderman of Charlottsville, Virginia, Taylor Rae Ellison and Zachary Ellison, both of Dallas, Georgia, Alexandra DeLong of Marietta, Georgia, Ashley Walsh of Indianapolis, Indiana, and Haley Nighbert of Madison; and nine great grandchildren: Justice, Ramsie, River, Trinity, Bishop, Lily, Sophia, Cal and Alyssa. Mrs. Heiderman was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Donald L. Heiderman, Sr. on December 5, 1970, and to whom she was married in June 1948; one son, Ronald Heiderman on October 16, 2010; and her companion of thirty years, William Griffith. The Reverend Dr. Matthew Stultz will conduct funeral services at 11:00 AM Monday, January 12, 2015 at the Lytle Funeral Chapel, with interment to follow in Grandview Memorial Gardens. Friends and family may call from 2:00 to 5:00 PM Sunday, January 11 and from 10:00 to 11:00 AM Monday at the funeral home. The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer's Association, or the Heiderman Family Scholarship Endowment Fund at IVY Tech Community College.
