Life story Mrs. Dorothy Roberts, age 93, of Madison, passed away on Tuesday, September 28, 2010 in Brownsburg, Indiana. She was born on February 18, 1917 in Canaan, Indiana, the daughter of Chancey and Frances Copeland Cardinal. Mrs. Robert had lived most of her life in two homes on Pleasant Ridge, the Jewell House, more recently near her daughter in Brownsburg. She was a member of the Pleasant Ridge United Methodist Church, the Madison Senior Citizens Center, and an avid member of the Democratic Party. Her hobbies included cooking, sewing and playing cards. Survivors include two daughters: Priscilla Jo Anderson of Lansdale, Pennsylvania, and Pamela Jean Smith and her husband, David, of Brownsburg; four grandsons: Timothy, Thomas and Michael Anderson, and Brian Smith; four great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Irvin Roberts on June 12, 1980; and one daughter, Arleida Metz. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 AM Wednesday, October 6, 2010 at the Lytle Funeral Chapel, with interment to follow in Brooksburg Cemetery. Friends and family may gather from 5 to 8 PM Tuesday, October 5, and from 9 AM until time of services on Wednesday. The family requests contributions in memory of Mrs. Roberts be made to the Madison Senior Citizens Center. Memorial envelopes are available at the funeral home.
