Life story Mr. Edward N. Hill, age 86, of Nokomis, Florida, formerly of Madison, passed away on Saturday, May 5, 2012 at the Douglas T. Jacobson State Veteran's Nursing Home in Port Charlotte, Florida. He was born on February 24, 1926 in Madison, the son of John N. and Clara B. (Yager) Hill. While he lived in Madison, Mr. Hill worked for the former Irvin's Feed Store, the Jefferson Proving Ground and Rex Chainbelt. He was also a farmer. He moved to Florida in 1965, and retired after many years of service as a mail sorter with the United States Post Office in Nokomis and Cincinnati, Ohio. He served in the United States Air Force during World War II, and was the main caregiver of his mother until her death in 1987. He was a former member of Saint Patrick's Catholic Church in Madison, and a member of the Epiphany Cathedral Catholic Church in Venice, Florida. He was also a member of the VFW in Florida. He enjoyed fishing and collecting antique cars, including a 1954 Chevy Bellaire. Survivors include one sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Bill Donnermeyer, Sr. of Bellevue, Kentucky; one niece, Theresa Faeth of Taylor Mill, Kentucky; three nephews: Bill Donnermeyer, Jr. of Union, Kentucky, James Donnermeyer of Cold Spring, Kentucky, and Thomas Donnermeyer of Fort Thomas, Kentucky; and one great niece, Rebecca Faeth of Taylor Mill. He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Florence Hill. The Mass of Christian Burial will be conducted by Reverend Chris Craig at 12:00 Noon Friday, May 11, 2012 at Saint Patrick Catholic Church, with interment to follow in Saint Patrick Cemetery. Friends may call at the church from 11:00 AM to 12 Noon on Friday. The family requests memorial contributions be made to Shawe Memorial High School or the Parkinson's Disease Foundation.
