Life story Mrs. Elizabeth K. "Betty" Schomaker, age 97, of Madison, passed away on Tuesday, August 4, 2009 at the Waters of Clifty Falls in Madison. She was born on May 24, 1912 in Avalon, Pennsylvania, the daughter of Albert C. and Jessamine Cox Kuester. Mrs. Schomaker was an accomplished watercolorist. She was a member of Christ Episcopal Church in Madison, and had previously lived in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Saint Petersburg, Florida and Point Harbor, North Carolina. Survivors include three sons: The Reverend Kenneth E. Schomaker and his wife, Dianne Hill of Madison; Lee K. Schomaker and his wife, Rita of Minneapolis, Minnesota, and Richard C. Schomaker, Esq. and his wife, Olga of Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania; one daughter, Linda Y. Atkins, Esq. and her husband, Tom of Louisville, Kentucky; thirteen grandchildren; and twenty-two great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Elmer Schomaker, to whom she was married in on June 8, 1933 and who died in 1995; and two brothers: Clayton Kuester and James Kuester. A Eucharist in celebration of Mrs. Shoemakers' life will be conducted by the Reverend Mary Taflinger of Lawrenceburg, Indiana at 10:30 AM Saturday, August 22, 2009 at the Christ Episcopal Church in Madison.
