Life story Ellen M. "Pee Wee" Stephens, age 77, formerly of Madison, passed away on Friday, September 28, 2007 at the Baptist Hospital Northeast in LaGrange, Kentucky. She was born on July 20, 1930 in Madison, the daughter of Fred "Rack" and Carley Stoner Davis. She was a homemaker and a loving mother. As an member of the Madison First Church of the Nazarene, she was active in its Women's Ministry, Missions Ministry and Vacation Bible School. Mrs. Stephens loved to bake, paint, complete crossword puzzles and play Scrabble. Survivors include two daughters: Karen Burton and her husband, Sammy, of Bedford, Kentucky and Chris Gray, and her husband Mike, of Milton, Kentucky; three sons: Mike Stephens, and his wife Crystal, Dennis Stephens and his wife, Karen, and Jeff Stephens and his companion, Kay Turner, all of Madison; three brothers: John"Kiser"Davis of Beechgrove, Indiana, Ronald Davis and his wife, Ruby, of Petersburg, Indiana, and Ruben Davis and his wife, Jackie, of Milton, Kentucky; Norma Weber of Bedford, Kentucky, Alma Hedgepeth and Carolyn Sentell of Madison, and June Lewellen and her husband, Donald, of Carrollton, Kentucky; seven grandchildren: Sammie Ray Burton, James Michael, Stacy Marie "Angel", Joe, Stephens, Brandon, Stephanie, and Cody Stephens; eight great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Holland Ray Stephens; an infant son, Roger Stephens; one sister, Anna Perry; and one brother, Fred Davis, Jr. Pastor Jerry Sheets will conduct funeral services at 2:00 PM Sunday, September 30, 2007 at the Madison First Church of the Nazarene, with interment to follow in Springdale Cemetery. Friends and family may call at the Madison First Church of the Nazarene from 5 to 8 PM Saturday, September 29, and from 1:00PM until time of services on Sunday. The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Alabaster Mission Offering of the Nazarene Church. Envelopes are available at the Lytle Funeral Chapel and the church.
