Life story Elsa D. Hockenbury, age 75, of Madison, passed away on Thursday, February 28, 2008 at the King's Daughters' hospital in Madison. She was born on November 28, 1932 in La Jolla, California, the daughter of Luther Delphin, Sr. and Valasta Christina Stecker Maners. Mrs. Hockenbury worked as a sorter for the former American Tobacco Company in Louisville for twenty years until it closed in 1970. She lived in Mesa, Arizona for twenty years until recently, having moved to Madison in November, 2007 so she could be closer to some of her children. She was a member of the Catholic Church. Mrs. Hockenbury is survived by two daughters: Deborah Rogers of Madison, and Diane Nichols of Mesa, Arizona; one son, Stephen W. Seay, Jr. of Louisville, Kentucky; one sister, Dorothy Van Horn of Louisville, Kentucky; one brother, Dephin Maners of California; eleven grandchildren; nine great grandchildren; and one great grandson. Memorial services have postponed until 11:00 AM Saturday, March 15, 2008 at the Lytle Funeral Chapel.
