Life story Francis Dean Curl, 74, of Madison, Indiana, died Thursday, June 4, 2015 at his daugthers residence in China, Indiana. He was born Wednesday, June 26, 1940, in Crawford County, Indiana, to Ivan and Estella Galey Curl. After moving to Madison at the age of six, he attended North Madison Elementary. In 1959, he graduated from Central High School. He worked for Conn Organ. He retired as a heavy equipment operator from Kentucky Utilities. Many will rememeber Francis by his outstanding basketball skills starting in elementary school and continuing through high school. He was a fan of Indiana University basketball. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and spending time with his grandchildren and extended family. He was a member of the Veteran's of Foreign Wars Post #1969 He is survived by his wife, Georganna Demaree Curl, whom he married Monday, August 29, 1960; one son, Paul Curl, Moorefield, IN; one daughter, Patty Geyman, China, IN; two sisters, Mayme Mix, Canaan, IN, Rosemary Bastin, Bloomington, IN; one brother, Herbert Curl, Bloomington, IN; three grandsons; and 8 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers; Murl Curl, Galey Curl, Peter Curl, James Ellsworth Curl, and Gene Curl; and one sister, Edith Guillaume, A private celebration of life will be held at a later date.
