Obituary

Life story Gary E. Bush, age 62, of Madison, Indiana passed away at 2:00 P.M., Wednesday, February 2, 2005 at the Jewish Hospital in Louisville, Kentucky after a long battle with heart disease. Born December 31, 1942 in Lodi, Indiana, he was the son of Richard and Ida Elizabeth (Drake) Bush, whom both preceded him in death. Mr. Bush came to Madison in 1977 as a pipe fitter on the Marble Hill Project. He had attended Indiana University where he had played football for two seasons. He ritired in 2003 from Grote Manufacturing after fifteen years in the maintenance department. He was a member of the Prince of Peace Catholic Church, Hanover Lodge #652 of the F. & A.M.; Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite, Valley of Indianapolis; U.A.W. Local and a member of the Plumbers and Steamfitters Local #157. He enjoyed fishing, Mushrooming, Woodworking, and loved watching Jeopardy. Mr. Bush is survived by his wife, Maria Idabelle (Rico) Bush, whom he married on March 23, 1973; four daughters, Stephanie Bush and her husband, Jim Whickman of New York, NY, Valerie Bush of Florence, KY, Autem Bush of Tallahassee, FL, and Bethany Grant of Grantview, FL; three sons, John Harvey and his wife, Marion of Madison, Kevin Harvey of Los Angeles, CA, and Sean Harvey and his wife Julie of Russell, KY; a brother, Joe Bush of Edgar Springs, MO, an uncle, Les Bush of Lincoln, IL; thirteen grandchildren, Christopher Bush, Jacob Box, Hope Harvey, Emily Marcelle, Noah Heath, Zachary Harvey, Seth Harvey, Logan Heath, Samantha Harvey, Gary Harvey, Victoria Harvey, Garion Grant, and Sierra Harvey. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two sisters, Valerie Nelson and Edna Naril Bush, three brothers, Wallace, Richard, and Byron Bush; and a grandson, Troy Bush. Father John Meyer and Reverend Leslie Bush will conduct the funeral service at 1:00 PM EST on Saturday, February 5, 2005 at the Lytle Funeral Chapel with private graveside services. A prayer service will be recited at 6 PM and a Masonic Memorial service will be held at 7 PM Friday at the funeral home. Friends and family may gather from 4:00 to 8:00 PM EST on Friday, February 4, and from 11 to 1:00 PM EST on Saturday February 5, at the Lytle Funeral Chapel. Expressions of sympathy may take the form of contributions to the American Heart Association. Contribution cards are available at the funeral home.
