Life story Mr. George H. Schnell, age 80, of Charlestown, Indiana, passed away on Friday, April 29, 2011 at Saint Catherine Regional Hospital in Charlestown. He was born on April 29, 1931 in Jeffersonville, Indiana, the son of Hugh Kelly and Mary (Lewis) Schnell. Mr. Schnell worked as a painter foreman, deck hand on river barges, and retired after many as an independent long-haul truck driver. Survivors include his wife, the former Delores Lewis, to whom he was married on February 15, 1969 in Jeffersonville; two sons: George H. Schnell, II and his wife, Tanya of Madison, and Tony Schnell and his wife, Mandy of Madison; one daughter: Mechelle Blackwell and her husband, Tom of Charlestown; and six grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents. A Celebration of Life service will held at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, May 14, 2011 at the Marysville, Indiana Community Center.
