Life story Mrs. Goldie A. Kuntz, age 97, of Hanover, passed away on Saturday, December 8, 2012 at the Hanover Health and Rehab Center in Hanover, Indiana. Born October 25, 2915 in Lancaster, Indiana, she was the daughter of Guy and Lola (Dunham) Law. Mrs. Kuntz was in the first class at Lydia Middleton Elementary School, and graduated in 1937 from Madison High School. She and her late husband formerly owned and operated the Campus Cabin on the Hanover College campus from 1947-1976, where they also ran an after hours sandwich and pizza shop for the college students. Additionally, they ran Copper's Corner Drugstore in Hanover from 1960-1963 and the Soda Bowl on the college campus from 1955-1963. She enjoyed being around the college students and did a lot with the fraternities and sororities there. She and her husband also enjoyed riding in their MG and traveling. Later in life, she enjoyed being with her grandchildren. Her former memberships included the Hanover United Methodist Church. Survivors include two sons: George Kuntz and his wife, Pattsy of Bedford, Kentucky, and Roger Kuntz and his companion, Marilyn Wehner of Madison; one daughter: Sue Iburg and her husband, Ken of LaFayette, Indiana; one brother, Lafie Straub and his wife, Mary of Madison; ten grandchildren: Stephanie Rojas, Allen Jackson and his wife, Barbara, Sara Atherton and her husband, Scott, Steven Smith and his wife, Jennifer, Kellie Kammes and her husband Lance, Teresa Stewart and her husband Thomas, Kerrie Kuntz, Christan Noel, Jarrod Kuntz, and Michelle Bear and her husband Nathan; twenty great grandchildren:Stephanie, Sylvia, Savannah, Natasha and her husband, Michael, Eric and Lauren, Jeremy, Amanda, and Abilgail, Page, Michael and Kayla Kammes, Nikkie Gibson and her husband, Shane, Hunter Stewart, Jasmine Howard, Mollie and Justice Kuntz, and Kaitlyn Ryan and Emily Noel Turner; three great great children; two nephews and one niece. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, LaVerne R. Kuntz in 1974, and to whom she was married in Madison in 1937; and one grandson, Jacob Ryan Kuntz. Reverend Mike Straub will conduct funeral services at 12:00 PM Tuesday, December 11, 2012 at the Lytle Funeral Chapel, with interment to follow in Dupont Cemetery. Friends and family may call from 9:30 AM until 12:00 PM Tuesday at the funeral home. The family requests memorial contributions be made to Fallen Heroes.
