Obituary

Life story Harold C. Courtois, age 75, of Dupont, Indiana, passed away on Saturday, May 14, 2005 at his residence. Born May 30, 1929 in Quincy, Illinois, he was the son of Cecil and Mary Courtois, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by two sisters and one brother. Mr. Courtois retired in 1989 from the maintenance department of General Motors Corporation in Fort Wayne, Indiana. Following his retirement, he moved to Warsaw, Kentucky. In 1996 he moved to Dupont to be closer to his son. His service to his country began in September 1948 when he entered the United States Army. He remained there until June 1952 when he was honorably discharged with the rank of corporal. His memberships included Jefferson Post #9, American Legion and the V.F.W. Post #1969, both in Madison. He enjoyed fishing, Bluegrass Music, drinking, "hanging out with his son", and "just being one of the boys." Survivors include one son, Bruce Courtois of Dupont; one daughter and son-in-law, Michelle and Daniel Wallen of Waunakee, Wisconsin; and two grandchildren: Benjamin and Stephanie Wallen of Waunakee, Wisconsin. The Reverend John Meyer will conduct funeral services at 1:00 P.M. Friday, May 20, 2005 at the Lytle Funeral Chapel, Madison, with burial to follow in the Indiana Veterans Memorial Cemetery. Friends may call from 11:00 A.M. until time of services on Friday. The Honor Guard of Jefferson Post #9, American Legion, will conduct military services at the cemetery.
