Life story Mrs. Harriet Elizabeth Knox, age 82, of Hanover, Indiana, passed away on Thursday, March 7, 2013 at the Hanover Health and Rehabilitation Center. Born March 28, 1930 in Switzerland County, Indiana, she was the daughter of Albert and Shirley (Leatherbury) Lock. Mrs. Knox lived in Carroll County, Kentucky most of her life. She moved to Crestwood, Kentucky in 1992 and then to the Madison/Hanover area in 2010. She previously worked for the Joyce Shoe Corporation and Ace Hardware Store, both in Madison. In 1973, she chose to stay home and raise her children. She enjoyed baking and selling her baked goods, reading and gardening. She was a member of the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses in Madison. Survivors include four daughters: Linda Marsh and her husband, Andrew of Carrollton, Kentucky, Eugenia Knox of Hanover, Judith Boulton of Elizabethtown, Kentucky, Janet Brock and her husband Franklin; three sisters: Carolyn Montgomery of Hanover, Ruth Anne Chadwell of Madison and Maerguerite Ligon of Hanover; one brother, Paul Vernon Lock of Jacksonville, Florida; six grandchildren; three great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Charles William Knox, to whom she was married on September 8, 1947 in Jellico, Tennessee, and who died on August 3, 1995; and one brother, Eugene Lock. Memorial services will be conducted at 2:00 PM Sunday at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah's Witnesses, Madison. Family and friends are invited to the home of her sister, Maerguerite, 1231 South River Road Drive, Hanover, immediately following the service. The family requests memorial contributions be made to the Alzheimer's Association. Contribution envelopes are available at the Lytle Funeral Chapel and Kingdom Hall.
