Life story Mr. Harry A. Freeman, age 82, of Madison, passed away on Monday, August 14, 2006 at Hickory Creek of Madison. Born February 29, 1924 in Vicksburg, Michigan, he was the son of George and Claire (Weedel) Freeman, who preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his wife, the former Alice McLean, to whom he was married in September 1947, and who passed away in October 1992, one brother and one sister. Mr. Freeman graduated in 1942 from the Vicksburg, Michigan, High School. He then served his country during World War II in the United States Air Force. He later became a car salesman, working for many car dealers in several states. Survivors include two daughters: Alana Turner of Warren, Michigan and Debbie Cox of Vevay, Indiana; one son, Jeffrey Freeman of Fernley, Nevada; one step-daughter, Gwen Ryder of Chesterfield, Michigan; two step-sons: Ken Simmons of Modesto, California and Doug Shoop of East Tawas, Michigan; one brother, Richard Freeman of Kalamazoo, Michigan; eight grandchildren, including Jennifer Dulaney of Madison; and eight great grandchildren. Memorial services will be conducted at 4:00 PM Thursday, August 17, 2006 at the Switzerland County Community Church in Vevay. The family requests that memorial contributions be made to the American Diabetes Association. Cards are available at the funeral home.
