Life story Mr. Harry P. Philpott, age 79, of Campbellsburg, Kentucky, formerly of Madison, passed away on Friday, September 30, 2005 at the Todd Dickey Nursing Center in Leavenworth, Indiana. Born February 4, 1926, he was the son of Opha and Katherine (Butcher) Philpott, who preceded him in death. Mr. Philpott was a U.S. Marines veteran of World War II and the Korean Conflict. He was a retired truck driver for the Tropicana Company and the Conalco Steel Company. He was a life member of Veteran's of Foreign Wars, Post 1969, American Legion, Jefferson Post 9, and Moose Lodge #765. He was a former member of the former Madison Eagles Lodge, and attended North Madison Christian Church. Survivors include two daughters: Kathy Philpott of Campbellsburg, Kentucky and Paula Lynn Mahn and her husband David of Bourbonnais, Illinois; a step-son, Robert Horton of New Washington, Indiana; a sister, Gayle Canada of Crawfordsville, Indiana; two grandchildren: Dwight Richards and Zachary Richards; one great-granddaughter, Kristina; two nieces, Nana Rising and Susie Canada; and a nephew, Fred Canada. Private graveside services will be held Tuesday October 4, 2005 at Springdale Cemetery. The honor Guard of the American Legion, Jefferson Post 9 conducted full military rites following the service.
