Life story Helen M. Manville Leach, age 95, of Madison, passed away on Sunday, July 1, 2007 at the Waters of Clifty in Madison. She was born on July 27, 1911 in Canaan, Indiana, the daughter of Hugh and Cora Risk Manville. Mrs. Leach was a homemaker and devoted her time to her family, especially her husband and children. She had at one time worked as a waitress. She attended Calvary Baptist Church and enjoyed reading, cooking, walking and babysitting. She especially loved babysitting and spending time with her grandchildren. Mrs. Leach is survived by one daughter and son-in-law, Nina and Denny Luckett of Milton, Kentucky; two sons: Ron Dierkes and his wife, Shirley of Madison, and Larry Dierkes of Indianapolis; two sisters: Fannie Hamilton of Madison and Dorothy McClure of Hanover; six grandchildren: Todd Dierkes, Paula Powell, Justin Luckett, Ashley Luckett, Angela Luckett, and Julie Bowyer Thorne; one great grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her first husband, H. Frank Dierkes in August 1948; her second husband, John Leach on December 25, 1996; one daughter, Judy Bowyer on March 16, 2001; and a daughter-in-law, Carmen "Menchu" Dierkes on December 11, 2006. The Reverend Robert Leach will conduct funeral services at 1:00 PM Friday, July 6, 2007 at the Lytle Funeral Chapel, with interment to follow in Springdale Cemetery. Friends and family may call from 4 to 8 PM on Thursday, July 5, and from 11 AM until time of services on Friday. The family requests expressions of sympathy take the form of contributions to the American Heart Association or the American Lung Association of Indiana. Cards are available at the funeral home.
