Life story Mrs. Helen "LaVerne" Crum, 79, of Madison, Indiana passed away Saturday, October 05, 2013 at Waters of Clifty Falls in Madison, Indiana. She was born Wednesday, July 04, 1934 in Jefferson County, Indiana the daughter of Clarence C.and Opal A (Wainscott) Martin. Mrs. Crum went to Central High School. She was a homemaker and a farmer.She was a member of the Manville Christian Church, where she was a member of the Ladies LACE Group, and the VFW Post 1969 Womens Auxillary. She loved bingo and enjoyed talking to friends on the phone especially about Gene Autry. She spent many evenings playing euchre at the Manville Grocery, watching oldies on TV and spending time with her grandchildren. Survivors include her daughter, Wanda L. Young and her husband, Bob of Madison; 3 grandchildren: Brad Young, Jennifer Browning, and Diana Schafer; 9 great-grandchildren: Hunter and Katie Browning, Aliya, Jade, Michael and Matthew Young, Daphne Land, Leslie Righthouse, and Kelsey Morris ; three great-great grandchildren and several cousins she dearly loved. She was preceded in death by her parents and her husband,Sterl Crum whom she married on Wednesday, December 28, 1949 in Jonesville, Indiana. Brother George Severn will conduct funeral services at 2:00 PM on Wednesday, October 9, 2013 at Lytle Funeral Chapel, 423 West Main Street, Madison, Indiana with burial to follow at the Manville Cemetery. Friends may call from 11:00 AM till 2:00 PM on Wednesday, October 9, 2013 at the Lytle Funeral Chapel.
