Life story James Dean, age 85, of Scottsburg, Indiana, formerly of Madison, passed away on Tuesday, August 2, 2016 at the Hickory Creek at Scottsburg. Born May 3, 1931 in Gallatin County, Kentucky, he was the son of Thomas and Virgie (Ellis) Dean. He formerly worked at the tree farm in Gallatin County. He will be sadly missed by his two brothers: Tom Dean of Mishawaka, Indiana and Louis Dean. He was preceded in death by his parents; his companion, Floria Belle Larrison; and one brother, J. Bob Dean. Reverend Brenette Jenkins will conduct funeral services at 2:00 PM on Thursday, August 4, 2016 at the Lytle Funeral Homes & Cremation Service, Vail Chapel, with interment to follow in the New Rykers Ridge Cemetery. Friends and family may call from 12:00 to 2:00 PM on Thursday at the funeral home. The family requests memorial contributions be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
