Life story James Carl Short, 49, of Madison, Indiana, died Saturday, June 20, 2015 at his residence in Madison, Indiana. He was born Tuesday, February 1, 1966, in Madison, Indiana, to Carl and Gladys Kelley Short. James attended Madison High School. He also attended vocational school in Versailles, Indiana. He worked for the Lanier Home and Broadway. James enjoyed riding his scooter, being with his family and friends. He was baptized at an early age, which he renewed his relationship with our Lord and Jesus Christ. He is survived by his daughter, Amber Singleton, of Alabama; two sisters: Della Callis and her husband, Donald and Bonnie Short; one brother, Rex Short: 3 grandchildren: Slyvia, Sophia and Jean Carlo; two nieces: Heather Short and Amanda Thomas; five nephews: Jack Edwards Jr, Elvis Kirby, Holden Short, Rex Short Jr, and Micah Short; several great nieces, great nephews and many cousins; and a good friend and caregiver, Mary Horton. He was preceded in death by his parents; two sisters: Carol Short, and Jenny Short; two brothers: Neville Short and Stewart Short; one niece, Monica Edwards. The funeral will be at 1:00 PM Wednesday, June 24, 2015 at Lytle Funeral Chapel. Burial will be in Springdale Cemetery.
