Life story Mrs. Janet M. Thompson, age 89, of Madison, passed away on Saturday, June 29, 2013 at the Waters of Clifty Falls in Madison. She was born on February 24, 1924 in Madison, the daughter of John and Edna (James) Brinson. Mrs. Thompson was a life-long resident of Madison, and retired in 1987 as an inspector from the former Conn Organ Company after twenty-five years of service. She enjoyed playing Bingo, "fixing things," reading and was a good mother and person. Her memberships included the Eagles Lodge, American Legion and Madison Moose Lodge. Survivors include five daughters: Carolyn A. Dean, Edna L. Case and her husband, Donnie, Janice Faye Eggers, Mary Alice Thompson and her companion Steve Humphrey, and Geannie Thompson and her companion, Briton Hunt, all of Madison; three sons: John W. Thompson and his wife, Twila, Robert J. Thompson and his wife, Wanda, and Larry W. Thompson and his wife, Mary Kay, all of Madison; one sister, Ramona Potter of Madison; and several grandchildren, great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, William A. Thompson, to whom she was married on September 24, 1940 in Greensburg, Indiana, and who died on August 13, 2005; one son, Harvey Raymond Thompson; two sisters and three brothers. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 AM Wednesday, July 3, 2013 at the Lytle Funeral Chapel, with interment to follow in Grandview Memorial Gardens. Friends and family may call from 5 to 8 PM Tuesday, July 2 and from 10 to 11 AM Wednesday at the Lytle Funeral Chapel.
